![]() ![]() ![]() Try resetting your profiles to see if it stops this unwanted behaviour, or delete history when Firefox closes to see if that stops it as it has for me until this gets patched. If I untick delete cookies and site data and now delete history after resetting my profile it not does try to add another icon in the dock, so the only way round this is for myself is to have Firefox not set to delete history ticked, this got turned on with 112 since I have cookies and data set to delete and as mentioned turn one on and the other now gets turned on then it doesn’t do that bounce and reproduce new icons, it does not remove the cookie data when shutting Firefox down any more as delete history and Cookies and data on shutdown are now linked for some reason.Īdd ons I have are Ublock Origin and Firefox's Facebook Container. I have Firefox generally set to to delete cookies and site data but now if I have that ticked it also for some reason automatically ticks the box to clear history too, when Firefox closes which is new behaviour, it didn’t do in version 111, so if I have those ticked because you can’t have one without the other for some reason, when you close Firefox 112 it does that weird adding an extra icon thing. Adds really nice continuity for the time being while applications still haven't got a Big Sur icon. I use it to add Big Sur icons to applications like Steam and the Office 365 suite. I hope Firefox keeps up with this trend.Actually, I’ve noticed something if you unable Firefox to clear cookies and history it does not create multiple icons it but if you turn that on it does. y'all should check out and use Pictogram to easily change the icons and keep those icons even if the application updates. While there are some third-party apps that haven't changed their design yet like Firefox, apps are slowly but are adapting to this new design and we have popular names (as mentioned before) moving to such trend and it just suites Big Sur and its ecosystem. As a lot of new macOS Big Sur users noticed, the general system UI changed, and an important aspect is the various app icons. Its based on old widget for Yosemite called Spotify4Me. This is how the trend is going at Mac Big Sur, I hope the design team understands this and does the needful. Ive made a simple widget for controlling Spotify playback from BigSurs Notification Center. While it does make it look smaller, it's still big enough. I understand that people have concerns over making the Firefox logo small by adapting to such design, but when you look at other browsers such as Brave, Chrome and Edge, it seems to be very fine. There is a clear problem with the setting that is not macOS specific. I also checked in System Preferences > Users & Groups, and Spotify is not among the Login Items, which could override the application settings. I think the design team needs to look over this again. Each time I go to Preferences > Advanced Settings and 'Open Spotify automatically.' is set to 'No' already. Discord, Chrome, Brave, Microsoft Edge are all thrid-parties and they are not an apple product (keep in mind that this is just to mention a few). ![]() I don't think so, so many 3rd party applications have adapted to this design to suit Big Sur. Still almost no other non-Apple app that is installed on my device adopted the icon style after so many months. Regardless, I think that as more time passes and more apps adopt the guidelines Just wanted to suggest that there should be a Spotify widget for MacOS Big Sur, as it would be helpful.
